ABOUT
Annarrgeal of the Evenstar, fourth of her name, met a young human who stumbled into her family garden. She was barely of age (seventy-one) but was charmed by this human thief. She kept it secret, as this young man kept sneaking in to tell her of his heroics and adventures. She was in love. True, he was human, but many tales told of the romance of falling in love with a short-lived soul. They were like a candle — their flame burned bright even if it was short. Not to mention, he was the crown prince of Eldraine — she never would have guessed. An elf giving up her immortality for a human so romantic... according to all the tales.
Her family was delighted about the youthful affair. The boy, Kenrith, was the heir to the throne, and so one day Annarrgeal would be Queen. They were children, teens at best, but it was embraced in the court as true love. A fairy tale. A true test of devotion.
However, Kenrith matured much faster than Annarrgeal. When he fell in love with a poor human girl who accomplished so many more heroic feats than Annarrgeal... well, it was such a good story. A real fairy tale, Cinderella finding her prince against all odds. Anna was left out in the cold, soon cast as his spiteful betrothed, because she lashed out and rejected his change of heart. She was immaturely jealous, an elven child next to two human adults.
Her ex-lover and his wife grew old, while she stayed young and heartbroken. Not that her parents were sympathetic. It was her failing; losing his heart, losing the crown, acting uncouth and graceless. And then she learned she had an illegitimate sister, Soryn. This solidified for Anna that love was a farce, and fairytales were a joke. Maybe that's why she so badly wants to protect Soryn, even if this strange young woman was a symbol of her patents' hypocrisy. If she can save Soryn from falling into the same trap she did, then maybe she'll do right by one family member.

appearance
Tall and preternaturally graceful. Anna seems to almost float when she walks, and moves a bit slower than expected, as though time's not particularly important to her. She has the pointed ears of an elf, and long, soft hair that falls in waves when it's not done up.
Even at Strixhaven, she's rarely found not wearing gowns, robes, capes and delicate silvery jewelry.
